SLocated in the
very pretty and authenticate village of "Embres et Castelmaure", this
gîte all built with apparent stones, will offer you a sight on the
vineyards and the "garrigues" (mediterranean vegetation). Two splendid
chapels to be discovered in the "garrigue".
Ground floor: a great living room, dining room, TV, a chimney giving on
a patio.
An
equipped kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, oven, refrigerator, freezer…),
a bar, a wash-house (washing machin)
a bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom with toilet.

Open all the year
This beautiful sheep-fold is surrounded by
two small mediterranean gardens entirely closed by walls.
Outside : two patios/ terrace/ tables/ chairs / deckchairs/ parasol. A
covered summer kitchen, with chimney, tables and chairs.
First
floor: Three large bedrooms (1 double bed + 1 baby
bed+ 4 single beds).
A bath room and an independent toilet.
Bed-sheets and household linen provided, as well as furniture for baby.
Electricity in addition in
wintertimes.

Life of the
village
:
A hundred
inhabitants are living in this small village. During the summer, some
festivals are organized there : village celebration in July,
competition of "Pétanque" during all summer… Many festivals in all the
area.
Conveniences :
Ambulant shopkeepers cars will come every day to propose you regional
foodstuffs (bread, meat, vegetables…).
A small mini-market is opened, in the village of Saint Jean de Barrou,
5 minutes from the gîte (grocer, tobaccos…) and bakery.
Shopping
:
The cities of Narbonne, Perpignan and Carcassonne are located each one
at 45 minutes from the village.
Sports
and leisures :
Golf in Carcassonne, swimming pool at 10 minutes from the village, sea,
riding school, many walks through the monuments, castles and Abbeys.
Many walks and excursions departing from "Saint Jean de Barrou" through
monuments, castles and Abbeys, etc.
The Mediterranean sea is at 25 minutes, by car.
Gastronomy
:
Some
gourmet restaurants, several co-operative wine and wine- cellars in
villages surrounding, will make you discover the best wines of the area.
